2014

The famous New Year resolution list, right? Not from this girl, I do have some goals that I am hoping to obtain this year. I really want to sit down and do a bucket list for the year with my husband for our family, now that the boys are older and on whole milk, I think it will be much easier to do things. At least, I'm really hoping it will be. I'm hoping to make this year a great year, and making it a year for change. This is what I'm hoping going to change this year:
  • My relationship with food. I am going to make it better than what it has been. All my life it has been a constant battle of limiting, binging, limiting, removing. Not any longer. Granted this is more of a lifestyle change, but, I need to be a better role model with this for my kids, and for myself. I want to focus on making more well rounded, healthier, fresher meals for my family. Not bird food. It has to be filling, yummy, and good for us. I refuse to limit myself to food any longer. I'm not going to binge on chocolate, but I'm not eliminating it either.
  • My relationship with myself. I want to fall in love with myself. Sure, it may sound super vain. But I really want to love myself, my appearance, my quirks. I will make time for myself each day. Whether its a glass of wine or a home DIY pedicure. I deserve to reward myself and spoil myself. I work hard and I should be rewarded for that.
  • To be more active, healthy, and fit. I know, I know it is on everyone's list, but this is something that is and always has been close to my heart. I was so fit and active before and I haven't been lately. I'm also hoping that by doing this it will help me wean off of my PPD medications and help the PPD get lost!
  • My relationship with God. I want to live closer to His word and I want to live a more Holy lifestyle. I know there will be instances where I fall short, I know there will be not so stellar moments. But its where my heart is. I want to be better.
  • My relationship with my husband. Pretty self explanatory, but I want to really work on being a better wife, and a better friend towards Erik.
  • I want our family to be more active in general, hiking, walking, adventures things like that. Being outdoors more.
  • I will not allow myself to stress over work and my hours. I will do my best and that's all I can do. I will accept this and move onward
  • I will decide on a career path to take.

As for our bucket list, that's going to be a fun project. I know we have a bit of traveling to do so we'll see where it gets us! As for now going to Disney is the only item on the list.

What do you want to do in 2014? What types of changes are you wanting to make? What is on your  bucket list?

Wow - What a year!

So - 2010 is officially over with. Where oh where did it go?! Time really did fly by this year.

2010 was a year that provided me with a lot of growth, a lot of love, some hard times, some lonely times, some opportunities. Overall it was great, I don't like (as much as it seems I do) resenting and regretting things. Especially something so sweet and important as time. The majority of the year, much like 2009, was spent away from my honey. We started off the year saying goodbye on January 2 and starting kicking our second deployment's butt. Looking back - deployments provided a lot for us, for our relationship, and no I'm not talking about financially. But it provided us a time, to strengthen our relationship, communication, and it allowed us to focus on things we wanted or needed to get done. I was able to focus on school and work mainly, I worked out a lot, I could focus on me, and us. And then on July 28 the most wonderful day of the year - homecoming. That one kiss I waited 207 days for.
2010 allowed me, for the most part, to finally get my thyroid handled and taken care of. Family wise - it was slightly harder than normal for me. It gets hard sometimes accepting the fact that to my mother, sometimes my brothers just do matter more. But that is something I've worked hard to just accept and move past. I've come to understand that friends are really hard to come by, and you can't trust everyone, you can't expect to be treated like you treat someone else by everyone, just only some people.
Overall, 2010 was a good year, I learned a lot about myself, a lot about people, a lot about my relationship.

My hopes for 2011 are high. I'm so excited about being able to spend our first spring together, ever. I'm excited about the many changes that are coming. Nervous and scared, but excited. I have high hopes for the new year. I'm hoping to have my degree this year, I am hoping to be healthier and more self confident. I am hoping to just enjoy life, enjoy love, and enjoy all the adventures that the new year brings.

I spent my New Years Eve with my amazing boyfriend, we were able to go out and enjoy the New Years together for the first time. We went out with a good friend of mine, Jen. I actually wore something out of my comfort zone and loved it. We definitely drank too much, but were safe and took my first cab ride home (I hate the idea of a taxi cab, but it wasn't too bad). Unfortunately after all the fun and yummy drinks we had - I did end up paying a pretty price for it - to the toilet of course. And spent much of the first day of the year lying in bed feeling absolutely hungover and gross. But with a yummy BLT from Sonic, and some sleep, and of course Tylenol, I feel much, much better. Here is a picture of last night - I do apologize apparently I was a happy drunk who enjoyed sticking her tongue out last night. :)

Me and Jen :)

Me and Erik <3

For everyone, or anyone, who does read this - I hope your new year is amazing, I hope you approach things with a positive attitude (trust me, it really does help) I wish you health and happiness.

Cheers to 2011!

Wayyyy Better! :)

Not sure if the whole 'airing' it out yesterday helped, or maybe it was the new boots I bought (got a kickbutt steal on them too might I add) But I am feeling a lot better.
Yesterday was lovebugs birthday, and we spent the day relaxing, and me working, as well as a must needed trip to Shoe Carnival. Got home, spent time with Erik's Meme and PaPaw and went to dinner with his family, there was a new Olive Garden built in Louisville so we tried it out. Well - it's a longgg story but I like the ending - Erik's mom called ahead, and there was still close to a two hour wait - and no, I am so not patient, and we sit down and our waitress was dumb, with a capital DUMB. I try to be sypathetic, and nice, I really really do. But she was horrible - we told her it was Erik's birthday, (thinking they would sing to him - NO!) We were a group of 7, they gave us 6 silverware's, 5 small bread plates, and 6 bread sticks - apparently she can't count? Top it off - I only ordered water with lemon, and it took 3 repeated requests to get a single refill, Erik had gotten a Blue Moon while we waited and asked for another one, but a tall this time. We ordered our food and an appetizer, you know the normal, and well it took about 30 minutes to get our appetizer, which was 30 minutes of no drinks, no bread sticks, no silverware, lemons, or napkins, no beer. Got our appetizer, still no water, no bread sticks, no silverware, or beer. Received our dinner and finally got my water but no beer, and Erik had to go to the hostess stand to get silverware. This girl was horrible - so after dinner Erik's dad went and spoke with the manager, and just wanted to tell her how our dinner was. Well surprisingly she came over, apologized about everything without making a single excuse for it, gave his parents a gift card, and then turned to Erik and thanked him for his service and gave him a $50 gift card as well. It always, always, warms my heart when someone thanks him for his service. Erik isn't the kind of guy who really 'throws' around his service so when someone does find out and thanks him it always makes me smile.
But anyways - rambling - and back to the point of my post. I am feeling a lot more like myself and am a lot more cheerful. We are driving back home now, and its always kind of bittersweet leaving - I love visiting with his family, but I am definitely ready for some 'me' time, and sleep in my own bed.

I am also really thankful that we can finally enjoy our new years eve tomorrow night, I'm not sure what the plan is or what we are going to do for it - but we will be enjoying each others company without having to say goodbye the next day. I am really excited for the new year, the new changes, the new adventures, and the new friends that it will bring with it. In with the new, out with the old. I am really going to try to let go of all the bad and the resentment I've been holding over the year. Start the year fresh, with a positive outlook :)
